The role sits within a dedicated fabrication cell and plays a critical part in delivering mechanically robust, dimensionally accurate components that support wider system integration and assembly operations. Reporting to: Fabrication Leadership Core Responsibilities Fabrication and welding of structural frames, cylindrical vessels and associated mechanical components Predominantly MIG welding, with TIG welding applied where required Working from detailed technical and engineering drawings to produce components to specification Maintaining dimensional tolerances, alignment accuracy and material integrity Minimal finishing and surface preparation to complete components to required standard Operation of workshop equipment including saws, pedestal drills and general fabrication machinery Compliance with production schedules, quality standards and workshop safety protocols Supporting wider manufacturing operations during peak demand periods Technical Experience Required Demonstrable experience within a fabrication and welding environment Strong MIG welding capability (essential) TIG welding experience (advantageous) Ability to interpret detailed fabrication and engineering drawings Sound understanding of dimensional tolerances, bend allowances and material behaviour under heat Experience working to defined quality standards in structured manufacturing environments Competent use of hand tools and workshop power tools Qualifications NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent vocational qualification) preferred Valid driving licence FLT certification advantageous
