Tooling Engineer Job Type: Full-time, Rotating Day Shift Location: Kent Salary: £46,000 per annum We are seeking a dedicated Tooling Engineer to join our Tool Room department. This role is crucial for ensuring the routine and reactive maintenance and repair of tooling and injection moulds. The position involves working on a rotating shift basis, providing ample opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks and challenges. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct routine tooling maintenance to ensure maximum uptime of injection moulds. Troubleshoot, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs on injection moulds. Utilise conventional machining techniques such as lathe work, surface grinding, milling, and spark erosion. Read and interpret engineering drawings to create and maintain tools fit for purpose. Complete and maintain records related to tool maintenance and repairs. Communicate effectively with the Injection Moulding Tooling & Maintenance Manager or Team Leader about any machine or equipment issues. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintain high levels of housekeeping, and use provided PPE correctly. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in tooling maintenance and injection mould repairs. Proficiency in conventional machining techniques and the ability to read engineering drawings. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to report issues promptly. Commitment to health and safety standards and procedures.
