Job Title: Chainsaw Operative / Groundworker
Location: Glasgow, Motherwell, Edinburgh
Contract: Casual Worker
Shifts: Monday to Friday, Days (may be required to work nights & weekends)
Pay: Competitive Day Rate

We are expanding our arboriculture team and are looking for experienced chainsaw operative groundworkers to support upcoming projects across Glasgow, Motherwell and Edinburgh. In this role, you ll help deliver safe, efficient tree maintenance and vegetation management services within a professional and safety-focused environment. You ll work as part of a trusted team contributing to essential rail and infrastructure vegetation works.
What you ll do- Operate chainsaws safely and efficiently.
- Carry out tree removal, pruning, and land clearance.
- Follow project plans and adhere to all safety guidelines.
- Inspect, maintain, and use equipment correctly.
- Work closely with the team to deliver projects on time.
- Apply strong knowledge of tree identification and arboriculture best practice.
- Essential
- NPTC CS30, CS31 (Units 301/302/303).
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) with COSS competency
- Brush cutter/strimmer competency.
- Forestry First Aid or First Aid at Work Certificate.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within site teams.
