What you'll be doing: The role involves leading the full lifecycle of electronic assembly development, taking concepts from initial specification through to service release. The role supports peer reviews, design progress assessments, and collaborative engineering across multiple projects, while also contributing to commercial activities such as bids, proposals, and project estimation. Core duties: You'll hold a degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or strongly related subject You'll be experienced in component-level design using computer-aided engineering (CAE) for volume production, including managing obsolescence and technology insertion You'll be proficient in circuity and analogue-to-digital (ADC/DAC) conversion, power supply decoupling, and collaborating on EMC-compliant PCB layouts You'll have a rigorous approach to the safety and legislative aspects of high-power and high-voltage equipment You'll have substantial experience in design proving, system integration, and proactive defect resolution You'll have proven ability to gather technical evidence to support safety, fitness for purpose, and legislative requirements You'll have strong understanding or experience in FPGA design, power electronics, and sophisticated test and measurement techniques The Archerfish Team: Join the Archerfish team within the Underwater Battlespace unit, where the Underwater Electronics group drives the full lifecycle of electronics, from design and manufacturing to production and in-service support, covering obsolescence management and redesign for manufacturability.
