Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you'll deliver end-to-end features across modern UIs, APIs and cloud platforms. You'll work closely with a cross-functional Agile team, helping design resilient services and owning what you build from development to production. You'll collaborate, experiment and continuously improve as part of a supportive engineering community.
Key responsibilities:
• Build responsive, accessible UIs (React/Next.js or Angular).
• Develop REST/GraphQL APIs (Java, Go, .NET).
• Design distributed, containerised or serverless services.
• Model data, write optimised queries and manage migrations.
• Deploy to AWS/Azure using CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement automated tests across the stack.
• Monitor production systems using metrics, logs and traces.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You should have strong full-stack experience across modern front end, back end, cloud and CI/CD tooling, with a solid understanding of distributed systems and databases.
Essential:
• React/Next.js or Angular
• Java (Spring Boot), Go or .NET
• SQL and relational schema design
• API and microservices experience
• AWS or Azure; containers and CI/CD
Desirable:
• NoSQL stores
• Event-driven systems
• Terraform/CloudFormation
• Observability tooling
• Secure/performance-focused engineering
