We are seeking a Maintenance and Gardening Assistant to join our dedicated team at Lister House care home in Ripon, North Yorkshire. Help us provide and maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. In this hands-on role, you'll take pride in maintaining our building and grounds to the highest standards. This is a permanent, full-time, role working 35 hours per week across 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays. Key responsibilities: - Carry out general maintenance and repairs. Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks. - Conduct safety and compliance checks. Complete regular inspections and testing of fire safety systems, water management. Maintain accurate records and escalate hazards and health and safety concerns to the supervisor. - Maintain grounds and gardens i.e. mowing, pruning, planting, clearing debris to keep outdoor areas safe and presentable. - Undertake risk assessments for events to ensure safe access across the site. A building trade qualification and experience of carrying out maintenance duties in a care home or similar environment would be an advantage. As a Maintenance Assistant, you must have a full clean driving licence and hold a D1/PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle). An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. CSCS Garden and Landscape Labourer Our clients seek enthusiastic garden and landscape assistants to build and maintain award-winning gardens throughout London. A CSCS card and previous experience is preferred. Whilst experience is important , knowledge and or exp of voluntary work with a passion for all things green will be highly considered. Working in all weather conditions, duties could include: Assisting with Hard and/or Soft Landscaping Installation and ground preparation prep for new planting and digging flower beds. General Maintenance: weeding, pruning, mowing, watering, etc. Sweeping and tidying Part-time and full-time roles available on a temporary basis however, many have gone on to permanent contracts if wanted. The starting salary is £12.50ph+. We pay PAYE, so you do not incur any deductions from payroll or umbrella companies.
