We are seeking a highly competent and hands-on Freelance Site Manager to provide crucial holiday cover on a busy industrial construction project in Market Drayton. This role is perfect for a proactive manager who can hit the ground running and ensure continuity on a key phase of work. The Assignment: You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site for a period of six days, starting Friday, 12th September 2025. The primary focus during this period will be overseeing the installation of new drainage systems, making a strong civil engineering bias essential. Key Responsibilities: Assume full responsibility for site safety, quality, and progress for the contract duration. Provide clear daily direction to the site team and subcontractors. Oversee and inspect the ongoing drainage installation works, ensuring compliance with specifications and drawings. Conduct daily tool box talks and ensure all method statements and risk assessments are adhered to. Manage site documentation, including daily diaries, progress reports, and allocation sheets. Liaise with the client's representatives and the permanent senior management team. Ensure the site is maintained to the highest standards of health and safety. A strong civil engineering bias with specific experience in managing drainage installation (foul, surface water, etc.). Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. Valid CSCS Black Card (Managerial). First Aid at Work certification. Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to mobilise quickly and manage a site autonomously. The Offer: Excellent daily rate (Negotiable based on experience). A clear, short-term contract with defined start and end dates.
