The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and deliver high-level accounts and advisory services. You will work closely with Partners and oversee junior team members, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of year-end accounts, management accounts, VAT, and general compliance work.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of clients across various sectors within the UK.
Prepare and review statutory year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
Produce management accounts and financial reports.
Prepare and review VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
Provide general accounting and advisory support to clients.
Review work prepared by junior and offshore team members.
Support the continuous improvement of internal processes and client workflows.
Liaise with clients, HMRC, and third parties as required.
Ensure deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard.
ACCA or ICAS Qualified (essential).
57+ years experience within an accountancy practice.
Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts, FRS 102, FRS 105, VAT, and general compliance.
Confident in managing a portfolio independently.
Experience reviewing junior staff work (desirable).
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple client deadlines.
Competent user of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.
Hybrid working: 3 days from home, 2 days in the office (G81).
