Senior Quantity Surveyor
A leading UK contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Bristol. Delivering high-profile refurbishment and enhancement projects across the rail sector non-trackside train station works, cladding,/ retrofit and structural refurbishments projects.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the commercial and financial aspects of multiple live projects, ensuring strong cost control, accurate reporting, and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Lead the commercial management of rail station upgrade projects (non-trackside), including cladding and general refurbishment works
Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
Handle subcontract procurement, negotiation, valuations, and payment recommendations
Manage variations, change control processes, and contract administration
Produce monthly CVRs, cashflow forecasts, and commercial performance updates for the Commercial Manager
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, validate measurements, and identify cost risks or opportunities
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure programme and cost efficiency
Ensure compliance with NEC/JCT contracts and company commercial procedures
Provide support and guidance to junior commercial staff
Requirements as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at Senior level
Background construction, or refurbishment projects
Strong knowledge of NEC or JCT forms of contract
Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial reporting skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Full UK driving licence
