Family Support Worker - PRU Setting - Islington

January Start - up to 125 a day

5 days a week - Full time

Long Term Futures are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Islington to appoint a Family Support Worker to support vulnerable students and their families.
This role is ideal for a compassionate and proactive individual who can build trust, improve behaviour outcomes, and strengthen family engagement with education.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support to families and children with complex needs, working closely with school staff and external agencies
Build strong, consistent relationships with students to encourage positive behaviour and improved engagement in school
Assist in identifying barriers to learning and support families in accessing appropriate services
Deliver tailored interventions and work closely with parents/carers to improve attendance, punctuality and home-school communication
Support children within the school day, working alongside pastoral staff and behaviour mentors
Contribute to safeguarding processes and multi-agency planning where appropriate

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children and families in educational or social care settings
Understanding of SEMH, behavioural needs, and trauma-informed approaches
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage hard-to-reach families
A calm, resilient and empathetic approach to support and intervention
Experience within a PRU or alternative provision is highly desirable
