KS2 SEN Teacher. Enhanced Resource Provision. Coventry

You will join a specialist team within a mainstream primary school, teaching pupils who rely on structure, patience, and consistent relationships to feel safe and ready to learn.

The ERP supports children aged 8 to 10 with a mix of communication, learning, and social needs.

You will be working in a carefully planned teaching environment where your help will genuinely move pupils forward.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a small group of KS2 pupils with complex and mixed needs within a structured ERP.

  • Plan, adapt, and deliver lessons that support communication, emotional regulation, and functional learning.

  • Follow agreed routines that help pupils stay calm and engaged.

  • Work closely with the SENCO, therapists, and specialist support staff to refine approaches.

  • Lead a small team of support staff, ensuring consistent expectations and shared strategies.

  • Use simple assessment tools to track progress and inform planning.

  • Maintain a safe, predictable environment that supports individual regulation and independence.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status.

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally autism, communication needs, SEMH, or developmental delays.

  • Confidence planning for a small class with varying levels of need.

  • Calm, steady approach with an understanding of behaviour linked to communication and regulation.

  • Ability to lead support staff and model consistent strategies.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
