Assistant Warehouse Manager

This niche, established and very successful business in the automotive parts industry, has created a new position of Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the Warehouse Manager in the day to day management of the warehouse, being the point of contact between the Warehouse and Administation Team.

This is a practical, hands on Assistant Warehouse Manager role, which will:

• Manage the small, manual handling warehouse team, dealing with day-to-day issues, supporting recruitment and training of staff
• Helping with receipt and storage of goods using Reach & Counterbalance forklift
• Ensuring that products are despatched quickly and accurately
• H&S
• Warehouse efficiency and cleanliness
• Close liaison with the office functions, such as procurement, administration and sales.

The role requires flexibility to respond to, and schedule urgent, short-notice customer orders, requiring you to work with the team on:

• Hands on assembly
• Bespoke packing
• Palletising

Over time, the Assistant Warehouse Manager may support improvements to layout, space utilisation, and ways of working to improve overall efficiency.

Skills & Experience

• Team Leader or Managerial experience in warehousing
• Strong communication
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Adaptable and able to work under pressure
• Diplomacy and calm approach
• Ability to liaise between departments
• Skilled in managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
