TeacherActive is currently recruiting an experienced and passionate Behaviour Mentor to work within an inner-city school in North Bristol / South Gloucestershire. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role supporting pupils who require behavioural, pastoral, and emotional support, with a strong focus on SEMH needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident, resilient, and genuinely committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group behavioural support
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and behaviour
- Implement behaviour strategies and intervention plans
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support pupils in and out of the classroom where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working as a Behaviour Mentor in a school or primary school setting
OR - Experience working in a secondary school with pastoral responsibilities
- Proven experience supporting children with SEMH
- A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning
OR - A HLTA qualification
- Availability to work full-time (Monday Friday, 8:30am 4:00pm)
- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new DBS
- Be able to Drive and have access to your own transport due to the location of the school
