We re currently seeking a passionate and reliable Assistant Chef to work in the kitchen to prepare fresh, high-quality meals that cater to a variety of dietary needs in a warm and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and cooking of nutritious meals for residents, ensuring presentation and taste meet high standards.
Plan menus that meet residents dietary requirements, preferences, and medical needs (e.g., soft diets, allergies, diabetic-friendly options).
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety regulations at all times.
Ensure food is prepared and stored correctly, following HACCP procedures.
Support the smooth running of mealtimes, including food service when required.
Stock control, rotation, and ordering under the Head Chef s guidance.
About You:
Experience in a similar kitchen or catering assistant role (care setting preferred but not essential).
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum).
Passion for cooking and a genuine interest in working with older people.
Ability to work in a team and take direction well.
Good communication skills and a friendly, patient manner.
