The Role
An experienced Site Supervisor (Fire Protection) is required for a high-profile research laboratory project in Oxford. This role focuses on passive fire protection works, including fire door installation and fire stopping. You will support the site management team in overseeing daily specialist activities, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and to strict quality standards.
You will coordinate subcontractors, maintain health & safety compliance, and ensure all fire protection works meet client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising daily passive fire protection activities on site
Managing and coordinating fire door installation and fire stopping works
Ensuring works are carried out in line with drawings, specifications and RAMS
Maintaining strict compliance with fire safety regulations and quality standards
Coordinating subcontractors and specialist trades
Delivering site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
Liaising with site management, engineers, consultants and client representatives
Monitoring quality, inspections and snagging of fire protection works
Maintaining accurate site records and compliance documentation
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within the construction industry
Demonstrable experience supervising fire door installation and fire stopping
Knowledge of passive fire protection systems and compliance requirements
Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and fire safety standards
Ability to manage multiple work packages and specialist subcontractors
Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
Detail-focused and proactive problem-solving approach
Qualifications
SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
CSCS Card (essential)
First Aid at Work (desirable)
FIRAS, BM TRADA or relevant passive fire qualifications (desirable)
