The Opportunity
Northreach is partnering with a specialist property lender to recruit a Bridging Underwriter to join a growing underwriting function. This is a hands-on role where you will manage cases from initial application through to completion, working closely with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal stakeholders.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of short-term property transactions and suits someone who enjoys balancing credit risk with commercial decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess and underwrite bridging loan applications in line with internal credit policy
- Analyse borrower profiles, property security, exit strategies and supporting documentation
- Review valuation reports, legal due diligence and professional advice
- Prepare clear credit recommendations and underwriting rationales
- Manage cases end-to-end from enquiry to drawdown
- Liaise regularly with brokers, solicitors, valuers and internal teams to progress transactions
- Maintain accurate case records and support service-level delivery
What we are looking for:
- Experience underwriting bridging or short-term property finance
- Strong understanding of UK property lending and credit risk principles
- Good commercial judgement and attention to detail
- Confident communicator able to manage external relationships
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under time pressure
