Job Description

The Configuration and Data Management Specialist will provide CM/DM support to fixed and rotary wing programmes and campaigns, ensuring consistent application of standards, processes, and regulatory requirements across the organisation.

Job Title: Configuration and Data Management Specialist
Location: Yeovil OR Bristol
Duration: 12 Months
Clearance: SC Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation, and deployment of standardised Configuration and Data Management processes.
  • Identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and contribute to mitigation planning.
  • Collaborate on the standardisation and governance of configuration management toolsets, including security and access controls.
  • Support configuration management inputs to bids, programmes, and supplier Statements of Work.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities related to CM/DM.

Programme Configuration Management

  • Apply and adhere to contracted Configuration and Data Management requirements.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to agree joint working processes.
  • Support programme control boards, ensuring consistent execution, delivery of outputs, and timely closure of actions.
  • Provide CM support at design and programme reviews.
  • Schedule, track, review, and close Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs).
  • Review and approve technical data for security, export control, and intellectual property compliance.

Data Management

  • Track and report data transmissions to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Manage customer and supplier data deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with export control, security, licensing, and intellectual property regulations.
  • Support internal audits and reviews.
  • Maintain secure virtual environments for technical data sharing and manage offline backup systems.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of contractual configuration management regulations and international standards.
  • Understanding of configuration management and programme management principles.
  • Commercial and financial awareness.
  • General knowledge of design, test, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing planning methods.
  • High attention to detail, quality-focused, and able to manage workload effectively.
  • Good IT literacy.

Desirable

  • CMII Practitioner or equivalent qualification/experience.
