Our client, a reputable family-run franchise-approved car dealership group across the West Midlands, is seeking an experienced Lead Vehicle Technician to join their team in Tewkesbury. As a key member of the workshop, the Lead Vehicle Technician will play a vital role in ensuring vehicle excellence, team leadership, and delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Working hours: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 1 in 2 Saturdays from 8:00am-12:30pm
Duties:
  • Lead vehicle repairs, servicing, and diagnostics, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained
  • Detect, diagnose, and repair additional faults to optimise vehicle performance
  • Manage daily workshop operations and workflow
  • Mentor and develop Vehicle Technicians and Apprentices to foster team growth and skill enhancement
  • Spearhead technical excellence, including hybrid and electric vehicle diagnostics
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and customer expectations
  • Maintain and modernise diagnostic and repair processes
Lead Vehicle Technician Specification:
  • Fully qualified IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Additional senior or master level training is highly desirable
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in a similar Lead Technician role or workshop management preferred
  • Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles advantageous but not essential
  • MOT Smart Card holder is a plus
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills
  • Ability to produce high standards of work in a busy environment
  • Committed, motivated, and target-driven attitude
  • Ability to live within a reasonable commute to Tewkesbury
