English Teacher
Location: Oldbury
Start Date: Mid-February 2026 (earlier start possible)
Long term Supply (Maternity Cover)
We are working with a forward-thinking secondary school in the Sandwell area to recruit a dedicated English Teacher for a long term role.
The school has a strong focus on high expectations, inclusivity, and supporting every pupil to achieve their potential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who values positive relationships, consistent behaviour standards and engaging teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan, mark, and assess in line with curriculum expectations
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils of mixed abilities, including those needing additional literacy support
- Work collaboratively within a supportive English department
- Take part in training and parents evenings
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- English subject specialism
- Previous experience Minimum 1 year
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
