Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service our clients fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy, safe, and compliant with all legal and company standards. T

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on HGVs and trailers
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
  • Perform MOT preparations, safety inspections, and defect rectification
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults efficiently
  • Ensure all work complies with DVSA, health & safety, and company regulations
  • Complete accurate job cards, service records, and compliance documentation
  • Respond to vehicle breakdowns and roadside repairs when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Liaise with fleet managers and drivers regarding vehicle condition and repairs

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Technician
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent)
  • Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good understanding of DVSA regulations and vehicle safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time management and attention to detail
