Senior/Lead React Engineer (UI/Front End)

Hybrid: 3 days per week in London
Salary: £110,000 base + strong benefits

We're partnering with a global, technology-led organisation operating at significant scale, building mission-critical platforms where performance, reliability and quality are non-negotiable.

This role is for a high-calibre Front End engineer who combines deep React expertise with strong AWS experience, and who is comfortable leading initiatives, influencing technical direction, and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in shaping and delivering modern, cloud-hosted Front End platforms, taking ownership of complex UI solutions that sit at the heart of the organisation's operations.

You won't just write code, you'll set standards, make architectural decisions, and be trusted to deliver at a very high bar.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the design and delivery of large-scale React applications using TypeScript

• Taking ownership of Front End architecture, patterns and technical quality

• Working closely with architects, principal engineers and product teams to align UI solutions with AWS-based platforms

• Driving improvements in performance, resilience, security and UX

• Leading initiatives end-to-end, from design through to production

• Communicating clearly with engineering and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment and momentum

• Mentoring engineers and raising Front End standards across the wider team

What We're Looking For (Essential)

This role is aimed at engineers operating at the top end of the Senior/Lead spectrum.

• Expert-level experience with React and TypeScript

• Strong background building scalable, maintainable UI architectures

• Hands-on experience working with AWS in production environments
  (eg cloud-hosted frontends, CI/CD, infrastructure interaction, deployments)

• Strong knowledge of modern Front End tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.)

• Proven experience with automated testing (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium or similar)

• Solid understanding of performance optimisation and Front End security

• Excellent communication skills - able to influence, challenge and collaborate across teams

• A delivery-focused mindset with high standards and strong ownership

Nice to Have

• Experience with design systems and component libraries (Storybook, Material UI, AntD)

• Figma collaboration with design teams

• Exposure to complex, regulated or high-throughput systems

• TDD/BDD experience
