You will also support engineers and team leaders, identify recurring faults and contribute to improvements in equipment reliability and performance. Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to reactive faults and carry out preventative maintenance checks. Diagnose, investigate and rectify equipment faults where possible. Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the appropriate engineering team or external support function. Maintain automated warehouse and warehouse management systems to a high technical standard. Monitor equipment performance and minimise response times and operational disruption. Carry out equipment servicing in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and quality standards. Undertake repairs in line with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practice. Support technical cleaning of automated areas. Identify repeated faults and communicate findings and potential solutions to the engineering management team. Support continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability. Work closely with colleagues, customers and other technical teams to resolve problems. Provide frontline customer support and communicate clearly regarding faults, issues and resolutions. Complete allocated duties in accordance with relevant site and engineering procedures. Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and company quality processes. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: Relevant experience in machinery, maintenance, electrical engineering or an automation environment . A minimum Level 2 Engineering qualification and/or significant relevant experience within an automation environment. Experience with fault finding and problem solving. An understanding of preventative maintenance / PPM schedules . Willingness and ability to work at height. Ability to work at height and climb vertical access ladders following appropriate training. A practical and methodical approach to diagnosing technical issues. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload. Strong communication and customer service skills. The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team. A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement. Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements. Good PC literacy. Desirable Experience Previous experience in an industrial, automated or materials handling environment . Electrical or mechanical qualifications. Electrical/mechanical fault finding and repair experience. Previous customer service experience. Understanding of Health & Safety regulations. Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical and electronic technical manuals and drawings. Basic understanding of PLC equipment . Good level of physical fitness for the requirements of the role.
