Fire Door Carpenter 220 per day Van & Fuel Card Provided Weekly Pay (CIS) Potentially long term contract for reliable and competent installer We are currently looking for a skilled carpenter to work on the installation of Fire Doors and Fittings for private residential blocks working across Greater London area. Working in teams to deliver quality installtions and remedial works. Our Client undertakes carpentry and maintenance work for Property Management Companies, Landlords and Property Owners. The suitable candidate will carpentry knowledge and the ability to undertake work including, fire door installation and carpentry maintenance. Responsibilities: Install fire doors in accordance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards, ensuring proper fitting, alignment, and functionality. Conduct fire door inspections, assessing their condition and identifying any deficiencies or areas of non-compliance. Carry out repairs and maintenance work on fire doors, including replacing damaged components, adjusting closers, and addressing issues with hinges, seals, or glazing. Install and test fire-rated hardware, such as panic bars, hinges, latches, and locks, ensuring they meet fire safety requirements. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians or plumbers, to coordinate projects involving fire doors and their integration with other building systems. Provide guidance and advice to clients and colleagues on fire door regulations, standards, and best practices. Document and maintain accurate records of fire door installations, repairs, and inspections. Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and industry trends related to fire doors, attending training sessions or workshops as necessary. Adhere to health and safety protocols, following proper procedures to ensure personal safety and that of others on the job site. You will be supporting a range of residential and commercial Clients, so good customer service, punctuality and reliability is essential. You will be working with a team member on larger projects and independently on smaller tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with specialist experience in fire door installation and fire stopping who enjoys regional work and delivering high standards in live environments. JOB PURPOSE The successful applicant will be responsible for the surveying, installation, and repair of fire doors, along with fire stopping and compartmentation sealing. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the safety and compliance of various commercial and hospitality premises, including hotels. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Survey and inspect existing and planned fire door installations Complete checklists and reports to verify compliance with fire safety standards Perform remedial repairs to ensure doors meet regulatory requirements Install new Fire doors per manufacturer guidance and legislation Carry out minor fire stopping and compartmentation sealing works Liaise with hotel managers, contractors, and compliance teams for seamless delivery Stay up to date with fire safety legislation and industry best practices SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Level 2 or Level 3 ibn Carpentry Proven experience with fire door installation, or fire stopping Able to carry out accurate surveys and provide clear, compliant reports Fire stopping and compartmentation experience desirable High attention to detail and safety awareness Strong communication and organisation skills Full UK driving licence SALARY & BENEFITS In return, they are offering a salary of £38,000 £43,000 depending on experience.
