Axon Moore are excited to be supporting a well-established and growing business in Preston to recruit a new FP&A Analyst. This role is paying a competitive salary of up to £60,000 with a flexible hybrid working arrangement on offer.Candidates must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.We are seeking a commercially minded FP&A Analyst to support business planning, performance reporting, and stakeholder communications within a complex, multi-entity environment. This role will work closely with senior leaders and operational teams to provide insight, forecasting, and decision support.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBusiness Performance & Planning• Prepare, analyse, and support monthly and quarterly management information.• Assist with forecasting cycles, including review of submissions, variance analysis, and internal reporting.• Support the annual business planning process, including timeline management, stakeholder engagement, consolidation, and final report preparation.• Review and consolidate cost submissions, ensuring accuracy and providing supporting MI.• Provide financial analysis and documentation to support business cases and strategic decisions.Stakeholder & External Communications Support• Assist with responding to stakeholder and external queries with accurate financial and operational information.• Support preparation of presentations, briefing packs, and Q&A materials for results updates and meetings.• Monitor market activity, peer performance, and external reports to inform messaging and insight.• Maintain and develop external financial models.• Work with senior leaders to craft clear, consistent performance and outlook narratives.• Ensure all communications meet governance and disclosure standards.Process & Project Support• Review and improve finance processes for efficiency and effectiveness.• Ensure appropriate controls, documentation, and end-user computing standards are in place.• Support ad-hoc project work such as system improvements, process refinement, or standards implementation.• Assist the wider finance team with year-end and audit activities.CORE SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with reporting tools• Commercially curious with a strong understanding of business drivers• Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities• Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focusedQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE• Professionally qualified accountant (or equivalent)• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and regulations• Proven experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or similar role• Exposure to external stakeholder communication and performance reporting• Confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsOur local Lancashire Axon Moore team recruit all accounting and finance roles from CFO to transactional finance on both a temporary and permanent basis.
