Location - Southend-on-Sea

Salary - up to 31,000 depending on level of experience

A world leader in aerospace component manufacturing are currently searching for a Sewing Machinist to work within the machine shop overlocking and sewing cut parts into finished covers. Candidates should have previous experience of industrial sewing.

Duties:

• Using drawings, templates, work instructions and/or samples to sew precut parts
• Carry out any reworks required
• Overlock cut parts as per instructions/training.
• Keep the sewing machine/overlocker in a clean and regularly oiled condition and report any faults to the Team Leader
• Work within guidelines/instructions to ensure traceability is maintained
• Carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required.

Experience:

• Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)
• Must have experience of using an industrial sewing machine
• Overlocking experience is desirable
• Must have a good understanding of how products go togethers
• Must have basic English communication skills
