Be able to negotiate post tender with our customers to capture any late scope changes and to prepare and submit best and final offers. Key Responsibilities: Act as the Council's technical lead on traffic engineering, road safety, and traffic order compliance Provide expert input into complex and high-profile infrastructure projects Oversee the delivery of road safety audits in line with best practice and national guidance Ensure road safety is embedded throughout project lifecycles, aligned with Vision Zero and Healthy Streets principles Manage and develop a small team, fostering professional growth and innovation Contribute to shaping policy and procedures that influence the creation of safer, more liveable neighbourhoods Job Requirements: Significant experience in traffic engineering In-depth understanding of relevant UK legislation and guidance (such as LTN 1/20) Strong track record in delivering engineering solutions that balance technical rigour with community priorities Ability to communicate complex information clearly Experience in building strong relationships with stakeholders Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities Please note that this is a hybrid role - arrangements to be confirmed with the line manager but could require up to 3 days a week in the office.
