About the Role

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Farm Worker to join a progressive beef unit managing approximately 1,500 cattle. The role offers a varied workload across all aspects of beef production and would suit someone with strong livestock handling skills and a proactive approach to farm work.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily care of cattle, including feeding, bedding, and monitoring livestock health and welfare.
• Assisting with calving, weaning, and general herd management.
• Routine stock checks and accurate record keeping.
• Cleaning and maintaining housing, yards, and equipment.
• Operating farm machinery (tractors, telehandlers, feeders, etc.) safely and efficiently.
• Supporting veterinary and technical staff when required.
• Assisting with maintenance of fencing, water systems, and general farm infrastructure.
• Adhering to health, safety, and biosecurity standards at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with cattle (essential).
• Competence in livestock handling and welfare.
• Machinery operation skills (telehandler, tractor, feeding equipment).
• Good awareness of animal health, treatments, and farm safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence (telehandler certificate an advantage).
