Mechanic

Automotive Mechanics for a project based in Wolverhampton, carrying out mechanical replacement and repair work on vehicles.

Role Overview:
As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for engine-related mechanical work, including the removal and replacement of engines, oil pumps, and water pumps, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and quality standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Removal and replacement of vehicle engines

• Replacing oil pumps and water pumps to specification

• Diagnosing mechanical faults related to engine systems

• Stripping and rebuilding mechanical components as required

• Following manufacturer repair procedures and torque settings

• Using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment safely

• Completing job cards, check sheets, and repair documentation

• Carrying out quality checks following repairs

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area

• Working to set targets and deadlines while maintaining quality standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic

• Strong knowledge of engine systems and mechanical components

• Ability to carry out engine removal and refit independently

• Experience replacing oil pumps and water pumps

• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals

• Good communication skills
