TOOLMAKER / TOOLING ENGINEER

40-50K DOE + Benefits + 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker / Toolroom Engineer to join a dynamic team specialising in injection moulding across medical, plastic packaging, and consumer goods sectors. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in both CNC and conventional toolroom machinery, who is passionate about precision engineering and high-quality mould production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture, maintain, and repair injection mould tools to the highest standards.
• Operate and program CNC machinery for toolmaking operations.
• Work with conventional toolroom equipment, including lathes, grinders, and EDM machines.
• Conduct precision measurements and quality checks on tooling and components.
• Collaborate with production and design teams to troubleshoot and improve tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in toolmaking / toolroom engineering within injection moulding environments.
• Proficient with CNC machinery as well as conventional toolroom equipment (lathes, grinders, EDM).
• Strong understanding of plastic materials, injection moulding processes, and tooling requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience across medical, plastic packaging, or consumer goods tooling.
• Knowledge of tool maintenance schedules and repair techniques.
