Job Description
Futures are working with a precision engineering business to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate manufacturing activity across their CNC machining operation. This role has a strong operational focus, taking responsibility for production planning, workflow management, and operational performance across the shop floor and wider supply chain.
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the required quality standards. You'll work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and subcontractors to balance capacity, cost, and delivery, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational effectiveness.

- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations within a CNC machining environment
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements
- Manage workflow, capacity planning, and job prioritisation across the shop floor
- Support quotation, estimating and job release activities from an operational perspective
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, lead time and cost
- Act as a key point of contact between production, management, suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor quality, delivery and operational KPIs, taking action where required
- Ensure health & safety, quality and operational standards are maintained
Operations Manager - Skills & Experience - Machine Shop / Machining / CNC / Precision Engineering
- Background in manufacturing or precision engineering environments
- Strong understanding of CNC machining and production operations
- Experience planning and managing production schedules and resources
- Commercial awareness, with exposure to estimating, costing or profitability
- Confident communicator able to engage with shop floor teams and external partners
- Proactive, organised and solutions-focused management style
