Financial ControllerLocation: WareSalary: £75,000-£85,000Full-timeThe OpportunityWe are partnering with a well-established, multi-entity business operating at significant scale (£100m+ revenue) to recruit a Financial Controller to lead its core finance function.This is a senior, hands-on role offering real ownership and visibility across the business. You will work closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team to ensure robust financial reporting, strong controls, and a well-run finance operation.The role will suit someone technically strong, comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and confident in leading a high-performing team.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end close and management reporting process, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness
  • Oversee year-end processes, statutory accounts, and act as a key point of contact for auditors
  • Manage and develop a finance team, setting clear expectations and building capability across the function
  • Act as a finance partner to senior stakeholders, providing meaningful analysis, challenge, and decision support
  • Review existing financial controls and reporting processes, identifying gaps and areas for improvement
  • Support process transformation initiatives, system improvements, and business change projects
About You
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate reporting to demanding deadlines
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Exposure to ERP systems and process improvement initiatives
  • Confident and credible leader with the ability to influence at multiple levels
  • Naturally inquisitive with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, able to draw clear conclusions from complex data
  • Well-organised, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure
