Role: Finance Business Partner
Location: North Yorkshire
Hours: Full time
Reporting to: Group Financial Controller
An established and growing business based in North Yorkshire is seeking a Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner to join its finance team. This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior leadership (CEO level) and operational teams to provide financial insight, challenge performance, and support strategic decision-making.
This position is ideal for a qualified Accountant who enjoys operating between finance and the wider business.
The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering accurate management information while acting as a trusted business partner to non-finance stakeholders. The role combines strong technical accounting with commercial insight and business partnering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key financial advisor to operational and commercial teams
- Support strategic decision making through financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Identify efficiency improvements, cost-saving opportunities, and profitability drivers
- Challenge assumptions and influence stakeholders with clear financial insight
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to senior management
- Monitor KPIs and support accountability across the business
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
- Ownership of accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the business
- Provide detailed analysis of financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and internal controls
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
About You:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
- Strong technical accounting and reporting capability
- Commercially minded with excellent analytical skills
- Confident communicator able to influence at all levels of the organisation
- Detail-oriented while maintaining a strategic, big-picture perspective
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach
