Facilities Engineer

Hours: Monday to Friday - Days (Standard day shift)

Are you an experienced Facilities Engineer with a background in food manufacturing or FMCG environments?

We're currently seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Engineer to join a leading food production business in Northallerton. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a vital role, ensuring the reliability and compliance of site services and infrastructure while working in a clean, fast-paced, and regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of site facilities, including utilities (steam, refrigeration, compressed air, HVAC), lighting, water systems, and building infrastructure
• Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and respond to reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety and food safety standards
• Liaise with contractors and service providers to support maintenance, servicing, and project work
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to site audits and inspections

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a Facilities or Site Services Engineering role, ideally within a food or FMCG environment
• Strong understanding of building services and utilities maintenance
• Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of compliance standards in food production (e.g., BRC, HACCP, H&S)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on, can-do attitude
