Description Length of Placement: 12 months Job Title: Undergraduate Submarines Structural Engineer Location: Barrow (Cumbria) We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3-5 days per week. Salary: £24,300 What you'll be doing: • Assist in Noise and Vibration trials during major commissioning activities. • Support within the developmental testing and analysis in test cells to develop signature management features and to support Signatures modelling activity, including the design of appropriate test rigs. • Support research projects completed within the department and with partner universities and Stealth improvement activities on the In-Service fleet. • Be involved in completion of computation models to support design decisions and instigate issues. • Unitization of specialist packages to investigate airborne noise and radar cross section. • Utilise information from computational model to determine requirements for all submarine systems currently in the Design stage.
