Job Description

The Highway Reinstatement Operative is a key member of the groundworks team, responsible for the high-quality reinstatement of public highways following electrical and street lighting installations. This role involves skilled work with tarmac, block paving, modular paving, and concrete to ensure the safe, compliant, and durable restoration of footpaths and roads.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Support: Work alongside skilled engineers and other teams to ensure jobs run smoothly
• Groundworks: Assist with backfilling and reinstating footways and carriageways
• Logistics: Loading materials and keeping the site safe, tidy, and efficient
• Driving: Transport the crew and materials to sites across the region (company vehicle provided)

Key Requirements

• CSCS Card: Essential for site access
• Street Works: Essential
• Manual Handling / EFAW / AW: Essential
• Full, clean driving licence (experience driving 7.5-ton vehicles highly desirable)
• Previous construction, utilities, or highways experience preferred
• Punctual, safety-conscious, and happy to get hands dirty
