Full-time (40 hours per week)

Leader Group is delighted to be working in partnership with a respected Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit an exceptional Deputy Headteacher for an exciting specialist SEND school in Knutsford.

Purpose of the Role

The Deputy Headteacher will support the Headteacher in providing strong, effective leadership and day-to-day management of the school. This is a key role in driving high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour, and pastoral care within a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Headteacher in establishing and sustaining the school s culture, ethos, and values

  • Promote inclusion, respect, and high expectations across the school community

  • Model and uphold the highest standards of professional conduct in line with the Staff Code of Conduct

  • Embed fundamental British values into school life and practice

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and reflective professional culture focused on continuous improvement

  • Lead by example in attendance, punctuality, and professional standards

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Proven leadership experience within a special school or complex educational setting

  • Strong knowledge of the Ofsted inspection framework, safeguarding, SEND, and trauma-informed practice

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams while modelling professional conduct

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, pupils, parents, and external partners
