A respected manufacturer based in Mildenhall, Suffolk, is expanding its team to meet increasing demand and is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join their workshop. This hands-on role involves the creation, upkeep, and enhancement of production tooling within a well-equipped and supportive environment.
What's the pay & hours?
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of 33,000 to 42,000 per annum, depending on experience. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00.
Toolmaker Duties:
- Manufacture, modify, repair, and maintain production tooling and fixtures
- Work with traditional toolroom and workshop machinery
- Support production by troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing improvements
- Assist with tooling trials, testing, and fault finding
- Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure tooling reliability and longevity
- Maintain accurate documentation relating to tooling and maintenance activities
- Work within ISO quality and regulatory standards
- Attend occasional UK/international travel for project-related work
- Participate in relevant training courses to support ongoing development
Who Are We Looking For?
We're interested in candidates with a strong toolmaking background who enjoy hands-on engineering work.
Ideally, You'll Have:
- Proven experience working as a Toolmaker or within a toolroom environment
- Experience using toolroom/workshop-based machinery
- A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Toolmaking, or equivalent hands-on experience
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Confidence with written and verbal communication, including MS Office
