We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour and require consistent, nurturing, and trauma-informed support.
SEMH Teaching Assistant
The role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils both academically and emotionally. You will help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment, supporting pupils to develop emotional regulation, social skills, and positive relationships.

You will be calm, patient, and resilient, with the ability to remain consistent and positive in challenging situations. You will understand that behaviour is communication and be committed to supporting pupils in a trauma-informed and compassionate way.
