Finance Assistant

Kidderminster 5 days a week office based

Temp-perm

Up to £32,000 DOE

8:30am-4:30pm

Full-time

Our client, a growing establishment within the Kidderminster area are currently looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team on a temp-perm basis. As a Finance Assistant, you will be faced with a range of duties to contribute to the smooth operations within the accounts team.

Main responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Responsible for processing invoices (sales and purchase ledger)
  • Managing payments and receipts
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Take control of credit control and regularly monitoring and chasing overdue payments
  • Processing expenses claims and support with managing petty cash
  • Maintaining financial records and filing systems in line with HMRC
  • VAT returns preparation and submission
  • Maintain and managing supplier and customer accounts
  • Handling financial queries from internal teams and external contacts
  • Preparing routine financial reports
  • Managing financial documentation and audit trails
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes
  • Liaising with banks, suppliers, and customers
  • Maintaining accounting software/systems
  • Ensuring compliance with financial procedures
  • Supporting audits by providing documentation
  • Filling statutory returns and documents
  • Responding to financial queries
  • Working with other departments on budget/finance matters
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout.
  • Any other duties reasonably requested.
  • Complete training as required or requested to enhance capabilities.
  • Maintain the function/responsibilities (where appropriate) of colleagues in their absence

Person specification:

  • Previous experience within a Finance position previously. (essential)
  • Familiar with a range of accountancy software (essential)
  • Can work in a team and independently. (essential)
  • Great attention to detail (essential)
