Job Overview: As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, only. However if you hold considerable experiences in teaching to Key Stage 5 the school would be willing to offer this as part of your timetable. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator with strong knowledge of the science curriculum, capable of inspiring students to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with the Science Department to develop engaging and innovative lessons that cater to a wide range of learners abilities. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective science lessons in line with the national curriculum. Teach across the science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) with the ability to specialise in one area if desired. Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development. Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and student participation. Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they are fully equipped to achieve their target grades. Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, school events, and ongoing professional development. Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and strategies for effective teaching and learning. Attend and contribute to department meetings, parent evenings, and other school events as required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational developments and best practices in science education. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, degree is a minimum. A degree in a relevant science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics). Previous experience teaching science at Key Stages 3 and 4; experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching science. Right to work in the UK.
