Overview

Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading organisation in the Defence & Security sector that is looking for a Full Stack LLM Engineer to join a small, highly skilled engineering team. You'll be working on fast-moving, innovative, and influential projects, extending the capabilities of an existing platform. The role combines modern AI approaches (including LLMs and GenAI) with logic programming to solve complex technical problems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced full stack engineer who enjoys working across data, Back End, and Front End layers in a highly technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Extend and enhance an existing platform using LLMs, GenAI and other AI techniques.
• Work as part of a small engineering team to deliver robust, scalable full stack solutions.
• Design, develop, and optimise Back End services and data handling using Python and PostgreSQL.
• Build and maintain Front End functionality using React and JSON-based data structures.
• Contribute to system modelling, integration, and performance optimisation across the stack.

Key Skills/Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a full stack developer.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Proficient in Python for Back End development.
• Commercial experience with React.
• Confident working with JSON for data exchange and modelling.
• Practical experience with LLMs, GenAI and other AI-driven approaches.
• ASP (Answer Set Programming) or other logic programming language experience (highly desirable).
• Experience working with geospatial file formats (highly desirable).
• Background in optimisation problems (highly desirable).
