Our client is a leading international financial services organisation seeking an experienced Senior Credit Analyst - NBFI to join its Credit Risk function. This role plays a key part in assessing, managing and monitoring credit risk exposures, with a primary focus on Non-Bank Financial Institutions, within a regulated banking environment.
Role Purpose
The role is responsible for minimising credit-related losses by identifying, assessing and measuring credit risks and mitigants across new proposals and existing portfolios. The Senior Credit Analyst provides independent, well-reasoned credit recommendations to senior management and Credit Committee, ensuring all decisions align with established credit policies, risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed credit evaluation reports covering transaction overview, financial and non-financial risk analysis, key risks, mitigants and clear credit recommendations
• Support the implementation and ongoing application of credit risk appetite, credit policies and credit governance frameworks
• Ensure all credit proposals and transactions comply with internal credit policies and procedures
• Primarily cover NBFI counterparties, with flexibility to assess other sectors as required
• Provide effective challenge and constructive guidance to Front Office proposals while maintaining independence within the credit process
• Draft and present credit opinions to Credit Committee in a clear, concise and timely manner
• Deliver professional risk analysis and mitigation strategies to senior credit stakeholders
• Undertake post-lending credit management, including
- Monitoring credit limits, exposures and covenant compliance
- Ongoing financial performance analysis of counterparties
- Tracking conditions precedent and conditions subsequent throughout the loan lifecycle
• Conduct credit reviews and sector research for new proposals and existing counterparties on at least an annual basis
• Monitor industry, sector and counterparty trends to identify early warning signals
• Contribute to ad-hoc credit risk tasks and initiatives as directed by senior credit management
Skills and Experience
• Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in credit analysis, with a strong focus on NBFI counterparties
• In-depth understanding of credit risk, mitigants and structures across multiple industries, jurisdictions and counterparty types
• Strong financial analysis capability, including forecasting, stress testing and sensitivity analysis
