Job Description

An independent property group, established for over 20 years, with commercial buildings across the UK, are looking to recruit a surveyor to assist with multiple projects across their portfolio.

This role will primarily be based at in West London (hybrid), but will require travel across all sites including London, Birmingham and Newcastle. You will attend technical meetings, managing the procurement and tendering process, project management and contractor management, reporting back to Senior Management on progress on a timely basis, and the wider role will involve:

  • Conducting surveys
  • Preparing reports
  • Analysing data
  • Procurement / tender management
  • Project management,
  • Liaison with contractors
  • Inspections
  • Drawings / designs and specifications
  • Managing smaller building works projects independently and assisting the team on major projects
  • Contributing your technical expertise to the wider team
  • Assisting the Commercial Director with asset management of the investment portfolio
  • Overseeing leases, facilities management where appropriate and tenant liaison

Competencies

  • Degree in Building Surveying or similar equivalent
  • RICS-accredited
  • Full UK driving licence (own car preferred)
  • Proficient in IT (MS Word, Excel); CAD knowledge (AutoCAD) desirable
  • Ideally you will have experience in the commercial property sector with a desire to further expand knowledge
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Capacity to work flexibly, using own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
