Credit Analyst

A Japanese Financial company in London is looking for a Credit Analyst (Associate level) to join their international team. This position is responsible for preparing credit applications and internal ratings mainly for Japanese corporates across Europe.

LOCATION: London (Hybrid working available after the training)
Credit Analyst Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review credit applications for corporate clients, primarily Japanese companies, including non-Japanese where applicable
- Conduct credit risk assessments and determine internal ratings in line with internal policies
- Analyse financial statements, market position, industry outlook, and ESG-related risks
- Coordinate with relationship managers and other departments for data collection and internal approval processes
- Support the enhancement of internal credit procedures and frameworks
- Ensure compliance with relevant internal and external regulations
- Report and respond to requests from Tokyo Head Office and other regional headquarters as necessary
Credit Analyst Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar credit-related role at a financial institution especially from the commercial bank
- Solid understanding of credit application and rating processes
- Prior experience handling credit/risk documentation in any function within a bank or financial institution
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Business level in Japanese is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
