As a Machinist at our HMD site based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our machining processes run efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards, while optimizing production schedules.

In this role, you will impact the overall production quality and efficiency by utilizing your expertise in machining processes, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Roles and Responsiblities

  • Setting and operating semi CNC equipment such as XYZ lathes and Milling machines
  • Setting and operating CNC lathes (multi axis)
  • Setting and operating CNC Milling machines (multi axis)
  • Minor programme modifications / updates
  • Minor Child part assemblies
  • Quality inspection of components
  • Disassembly of components after inspection / test
  • Any activities, with relevant skill sets, that enable successful team working and execution against customer (internal and external) expectations.

Skills Required

  • EHS & COSHH, Lean manufacturing, IT competent
  • Previous relevant experience in an manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Engineering competence in relation to pumps and components is valuable.
  • Communication skills are essential.
  • The ability to meet agreed time frames whilst working under pressure is important.
  • Knowledge of J.D.Edwards One World XE would be beneficial.
  • Must be an excellent team player.
  • Drive and enthusiasm are vital.
  • Awareness of Lean/Six Sigma desirable.

Qualifications

  • NVQ L3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • ONC or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
