Also known as: Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, Estimator, AHU Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer Overview An Air Handling Unit manufacturer is looking to recruit an ambitious estimator with a clear pathway into external technical sales. This is a pre-contracts role centred around AHU selection, pricing and technical proposal development. You will review specifications, drawings and tender documentation to produce compliant, cost-effective air handling unit solutions. Working alongside sales and project teams, you'll support enquiries from initial assessment through to order stage, liaising with suppliers and internal design functions to refine selections and ensure technical accuracy. A key part of the role is value engineering - balancing performance, compliance and cost. The position is designed as a progression route into external sales. Over time, you will develop client relationships, gain exposure to the commercial side of projects, and transition into a client-facing role managing consultants, contractors and key accounts. Requirements Experience in AHU selection, HVAC estimating or ventilation design Ability to interpret mechanical specifications, drawings and tender packages Commercial awareness with an interest in moving into a sales-focused role Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with internal teams and customers Ambitious and motivated to progress into external technical sales Background in building services, HVAC manufacturing or ventilation advantageous Package Salary circa 30,000 - 40,000 depending on experience Performance-related bonus Hybrid working flexibility Clear progression opportunities within a growing business Exposure to a wide range of bespoke projects Supportive and collaborative working environment WR HVAC M&E are recruitment partner for HVAC jobs.
