Your new company
Our client is a leading utilities business undergoing a significant digital transformation. They are seeking an experienced System Implementation Lead to support the rollout of the Finance module as part of their ERP upgrade to IFS Cloud. This is a pivotal 12-month fixed-term contract where you will play a key role in ensuring the new system integrates smoothly with finance processes, data remains accurate and compliant, and end-users adopt the new functionality successfully.
Your new role
Imagine joining just as a major ERP upgrade is reaching a critical stage. On day one, you're introduced as the person who will bring the new Finance module in IFS Cloud to life for the business. You quickly get under the skin of how the Finance team works, mapping real-world processes against what the new system can do, and spotting where it will transform the way things are done.
Very early on, you become the bridge between Finance and the wider ERP programme. You make sure finance configuration and delivery plans stay aligned with the overall rollout, so there are no surprises at go-live. When questions or risks arise, you are the one connecting stakeholders, leading the conversations, and keeping everyone focused on successful outcomes.
You'll support data cleansing and migration activities, making sure information is accurate, consistent and compliant with GDPR and other data protection standards. At the same time, you help shape user access controls and permissions in IFS Cloud, so the right people have the right access and the system remains secure and aligned to approved delegations of authority.
You'll review test scenarios, agree coverage and scripts, and ensure they genuinely reflect what the Finance team needs from the system. You help translate those needs into clear, practical tests so that issues are picked up early, not after go-live. You'll also focus on people, not just systems. Working with the Solution Integrator, you review training needs and help design blended learning that works for different types of users from finance specialists to wider business stakeholders. You capture the management information and reporting requirements, validating that dashboards and reports, including those in tools like PowerBI, really give the business the insight it needs.
You'll deploy change management and engagement techniques to help people understand what's changing and why. After the system goes live, you're there to support the Finance team, troubleshoot issues, gather feedback and turn it into continuous improvement. Along the way, you identify process improvements that the upgrade makes possible and feed them into the next phase of the transformation.
