Full-time, Permanent Position

This Plant Fitter position is suited to a hands-on Plant Fitter who wants stable, long-term work with a busy contractor. The Plant Fitter will support multiple active sites, maintaining and repairing machinery essential to groundworks, RC frame, and civil engineering projects. This Plant Fitter role offers consistent workload and practical day-to-day responsibility for a Plant Fitter who enjoys being site-based and technically involved.

About the Role
You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing construction plant and equipment used across active project sites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting plant machinery for faults, wear, and safety issues

  • Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance

  • Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults

  • Repairing excavators, dumpers, rollers, and associated plant

  • Completing breakdown repairs on site when required

  • Ensuring plant complies with safety standards and regulations

  • Keeping service records accurate and up to date

  • Coordinating with site teams to minimise downtime

  • Ordering parts and managing stock levels where necessary

  • Supporting plant mobilisation and demobilisation between sites

  • Conducting pre-use inspections and reporting defects

  • Maintaining a clean and organised workshop or service vehicle
