Position Overview As a Concrete Repair Operative , you will be responsible for the restoration and maintenance of rail-side structures, including bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and platforms. This is a technical role that requires precision to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of critical rail assets. Detailed Duties and Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Using mechanical tools (breakers, grinders, or grit-blasting) to remove degraded concrete and expose reinforcement steel. Steel Reinforcement Treatment: Cleaning and applying anti-corrosion coatings to rebar. Repair Application: Mixing and applying specialist repair mortars (hand-placed or flowable) to meet engineering specifications. Finishing: Levelling, smoothing, and curing repaired sections to match existing profiles. Injections: (Where required) Carrying out resin or grout injections to seal structural cracks.
