We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a dedicated team in a all year round nursery provision. The role Due to expansion a pre-school nursery is seeking a well-qualified and experienced EYFS practitioner to join a caring team as a Deputy Nursery Manager. You will support the nursery manager/lead nursery teacher in the effective day-to-day running of the preschool, ensuring high standards of care, education and safeguarding at all times. The deputy nursery manager will be the DDSL for the setting and will provide leadership and management support to nursery staff, role-modelling outstanding practice at all times and step into the nursery manager's role in their absence. The ideal Nursery Manager Significant experience working with 3-year olds in an early years setting Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework A clear understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection procedures A relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Eary Years Education Excellent communication and leadership skills The nursery Located within a warm and welcoming community setting, our nursery offers high-quality, all year round early years education and care for children aged 2 to 5. As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will also act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) , provide leadership and management support to staff. Key Responsibilities Assist with the overall management of the nursery, including staff supervision, curriculum planning, and daily operations. Take full responsibility for the setting in the absence of the Nursery Manager. Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) , ensuring safeguarding procedures meet statutory requirements. Promote professional growth through staff mentoring, training, and performance reviews. Deliver and monitor a stimulating EYFS curriculum tailored to the needs of 3-year-olds. Champion a child-centred approach that fosters curiosity, creativity, and independence. Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and safeguarding concerns, including the use of an online journal system to communicate with parents and carers. Requirements Proven experience in an early years setting, specifically with 3-year-olds. Level 3 (or higher) Early Years or equivalent qualification. Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and best practices in early childhood education. Experience in leadership or supervisory roles within early years is desirable.
